The popups should look clean, fresh and should not be too big.
Transparancy is not necessary.

The native (i.e. not Growl) notifications probably still need some work. Ability to modify the text strings would be nice.

I actually don't like this behaviour with the Growl popups on a Mac - it's annoying for people looking at your screen with you for a moment to see your incoming messages.

I changed my patch
now it has setting on/off: Options -> Events -> Show incoming message on popup (options.ui.notifications.passive-popups.showMessage)

What is the impact on Growl notifications on Mac OS X? On Mac OS X, this option is invisible in the UI currently (because so far, all the options in the Psi UI were handled by the Growl configuration itself). Does the option have any impact on the message sent to Growl? If so, we should make sure that this option is visible in the UI as well. If not, we should create a new flyspray task to make this behavior also possible on Mac OS X (and we should probably refactor the popup handling to make this apply to all popup handlers)
